If your fundraising story takes too long, donors stop listening. Try this instead.

Shorter stories stick. Emotional clarity drives generosity.

The strongest fundraising story is five minutes or less and includes just three elements:

  1. The person or community you serve

  2. The obstacle standing in the way

  3. How the donor’s support creates change

Keep names real (or respectfully disguised), paint a picture of the before-and-after, and end with a hopeful invitation.
